Writing a novel is never a straightforward task, and “Stealing Equity” was no exception. From the outset, I knew I wanted to create a story that was both thrilling and thought-provoking, one that would keep readers on the edge of their seats while also challenging them to consider deeper questions about justice, redemption, and the human experience.
One of the biggest challenges I faced in writing “Stealing Equity” was striking the right balance between the heist plot and the character-driven themes I wanted to explore. On the one hand, I knew the high-stakes action and the clever machinations of the crew would draw readers in as they plotted to take down Cum As You Are. I also wanted to ensure that the novel had real emotional depth and resonance and that the characters’ journeys would be just as interesting as the heist itself.
To achieve this balance, I had to be very intentional about the way I structured the novel and the way I developed each character’s arc. I spent a great deal of time plotting out the various twists and turns of the heist itself, making sure that each beat of the story was both surprising and inevitable. At the same time, I also made sure to fully realize each character’s journey and give the attention they deserved to their individual struggles and triumphs.
This required a great deal of revision and fine-tuning, as I worked to weave together the various threads of the narrative in a way that felt both satisfying and meaningful. Sometimes I had to make tough choices about which scenes to include and which to cut, always with an eye towards maintaining the delicate balance between plot and character.
Another challenge I faced in writing “Stealing Equity” was the need to conduct extensive research in order to ensure the authenticity of the novel’s various elements. From the intricacies of the adult entertainment industry to the tactics used by law enforcement to bring down criminal organizations, I had to make sure that every detail of the story felt true to life.
This research process was both time-consuming and intellectually challenging, as I worked to understand complex technical and legal concepts that were outside of my area of expertise. However, it was also incredibly rewarding, as it allowed me to bring a level of depth and nuance to the story that I might not have otherwise achieved.
Ultimately, writing “Stealing Equity” was a true labor of love, one that challenges me to grow as a writer and a storyteller in ways I never could have expected. Through countless hours of research, revision, and fine-tuning, I worked to create a novel that would be both entertaining and emotionally resonant, one that would leave readers both thrilled and moved.
Looking back on the journey of bringing this novel to life, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude—pride in the story I have told and the characters I have brought to life, and gratitude for the opportunity to share this work with readers around the world. And as I look ahead to the next books in the “Beyond Vengeance” series, I am excited to continue exploring the challenges and joys of balancing thrills and themes, plot and character, in order to create stories that will resonate with readers for years to come.
