What Is The Healthy Athlete Project?

Hello! I’m a physical therapist and healthcare exec who’s passionate about keeping athletes healthy and performing at their best. I’ve spent years in the trenches of sports medicine, and now I’m bringing that knowledge and experience to you with my online services.

Let me introduce you to “The Healthy Athlete Project.” This program combines injury consultation, prevention, and athletic development all in one package. Think of it as your personal roadmap to peak physical condition.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a pro athlete, your body and goals are unique. That’s why I’ve designed this program to be personalized. We’ll dive into your specific needs, using all the latest and greatest in sports medicine to keep you injury-free and performing.

What really gets me excited is helping folks bust through their physical barriers. I’m all about connecting the dots between how you move, how you train, and how you can sidestep those pesky injuries. It’s not just about quick fixes . . . we’re in this for the long haul, focusing on your health and performance for years to come.

My Approach

My approach? It’s all about empowering you. I want you to understand your body, build that resilience, and get excited about what you can achieve. My clients tell me they love how I break things down and give them practical strategies they can use in real life.

The core of The Healthy Athlete Project is a comprehensive approach that combines strength training, plyometric exercises, speed work, landing mechanics, and cardiovascular endurance. This isn’t just about preventing injuries . . . it’s about building a resilient, high-performing athlete. By focusing on these key areas, we’re not only reducing your risk of injury but also greatly improving your performance.

I believe many injuries stem from training errors, like doing too much too soon. That’s why I carefully calibrate your program to build tolerance to sport- and activity-specific movements at a smart, sustainable pace. Remember, movement quality matters, but so does the ability to strategically produce and apply force while developing the capacity to endure the demands of your sport or activity.

By integrating injury prevention with performance optimization, we’re creating a win-win scenario: you become more resilient and perform better at the same time. It’s about building an athlete who’s not just injury-free, but thriving and excelling in their sport.

How It Works?

Initial Session

We’ll start with a one-on-one chat where I’ll get to know you, your goals, and your unique physical needs. This helps me tailor the program specifically for you.

Custom Program Design

Based on our interview, I’ll craft an 8-week program just for you, focusing on injury prevention, performance enhancement, and any specific concerns you have.

Weekly Virtual Meetings

We’ll connect face-to-face (well, screen-to-screen) every week. We’ll review your progress, address any challenges, and fine-tune your program as needed.

Ongoing Support

You’re not alone in this! Between our weekly sessions, you can reach out to me with questions or concerns. I’m here to support you throughout your 8-week journey.

Success Stories

My experience working with David was more than i could ask for. David was so helpful and seemed so educated, I always knew I was in good hands. I've never worked with someone as helpful and I knew his main goal was his number one priority. I would definitely suggest David to anybody!

Jordan

I first went to see David in seventh grade to help prevent the tearing of my ACL, but that was only the beginning. Over the years I have visited David Potach a good amount of times. He really knows what he is doing and always strives to do his best in getting his customers/patients back to 100% in as little time as possible.

How can I begin to express my sincere gratitude? In these last two months I’m not only had my physical recovery aided, but I’ve also had the rare opportunity to see compassion and sacrifice at its finest. David, I can’t say that I’m glad I injured myself in the first place, but I’m certainly honored to have met and worked with you.

Lindy

The time and effort you have put into my growth and intelligence as a plyer and a person is beyond anything I could have asked for. I am ten times stronger and faster than when I arrived.

My name is Lauren. I play on the women's soccer team at a Division I University. I became familiar with David when I tore my ACL during the fall of my freshman year of high school. My surgeon recommended that I do my rehabilitation with David because of his reputation for successfully rehabilitating elite athletes. Although my appointments were sometimes full of difficult exercises and struggle, I was always excited to go and really enjoyed physical therapy there because it was challenging and fast paced. David was very good about doing things that were specific to my body and my sport. He was always there for me and was even willing to come in extra, or meet me at odd times to work out.

My leg was broken during an ice hockey practice. I was in a full leg cast for about 5-weeks. The cast was removed and I started my physical therapy with David Potach. I was uncomfortable and nervous at first but he made me feel at ease. David’s knowledge, rehab practices and motivation helped me get back on the ice and playing in a tournament two months later. I highly David to help you recover from your injuries. Thanks for everything David!

Ian

The first time I met David I could tell how much he cares about getting his clients back to doing what they love. He was very thorough and really took the time to figure out exactly what was needed in order for me to run again. David goes above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to his clients. I have small children and it was very hard for me to fit physical therapy into my schedule. David was willing to meet me at 6:30 am so I could complete my physical therapy. His willingness to come in so early for me was just one way in which David shows dedication to his clients. I strongly recommend David to all of my friends and family.

Traci

My experience with David was excellent. After sustaining a 3rd ACL injury, I had lost much of my confidence and was very cautious with any movement. As an athlete, I needed to get this back as soon as possible. David worked with me to help not only with strengthening my knee, but also with restoring my confidence. By introducing various sport specific activities, including power lifts and plyometrics, I was able to ease my way back in a controlled environment, so when I completed my therapy, I was ready to get back to athletics with the necessary confidence to succeed.
