As a physical therapist, the resilience and complexity of the human spirit has always fascinated me. This fascination has driven my work in rehabilitation, as I’ve helped countless individuals overcome physical and emotional challenges to achieve their goals. However, I’ve also long been drawn to the world of fiction, with its boundless possibilities and opportunities for creative expression.

When I first contemplated the idea of writing a novel, I knew I wanted to create a story that would allow me to explore the themes of resilience and redemption in a new and exciting way. The idea for “Stealing Equity,” the first book in the “Beyond Vengeance” series, grew out of this desire, as I imagined a world where a group of unlikely heroes would come together to take on a corrupt and exploitative system.

At the heart of “Stealing Equity” is a heist story, a thrilling tale of justice and revenge set against the backdrop of the seedy underbelly of the adult entertainment industry. However, as I developed the story and its characters, I realized the novel was also an opportunity to delve into deeper questions about the human experience, to explore how trauma, addiction, and circumstance can shape our lives and our choices.

The seeds of “Stealing Equity” were planted in my own experiences and observations, as well as in the stories of the many individuals I’ve worked with over the years. From the resilience of athletes fighting to come back from career-threatening injuries to the struggles of those battling addiction and trauma, these real-life narratives helped to inspire the fictional world of the “Beyond Vengeance” series.

As I developed the fundamental conflict and characters of the story, I became more and more excited about the potential of this novel. I saw in “Stealing Equity” an opportunity to create a story that was both entertaining and thought-provoking, one that would keep readers on the edge of their seats while also challenging them to consider the complexities of the human experience.

In many ways, the inspiration behind “Stealing Equity” reflects my journey as a writer and a storyteller. It represents a desire to explore new creative avenues, to push myself beyond the bounds of my professional experience and expertise, and to connect with readers in a deeper and more meaningful way.

As I look back on the seeds that gave rise to this novel, I am filled with gratitude for the experiences and influences that have shaped my perspective and my storytelling. And I am excited to continue exploring the themes and ideas that inspired “Stealing Equity” in the upcoming books in the “Beyond Vengeance” series.
